Photo Caption:

Middle right, this is an image showing one of the aero-beacons currently in use in the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. There are two rotating beacons placed back to back. The speed of the rotation is one revolution every 30 seconds, which produces the light characteristic of one flash every 15 seconds. These will soon be replaced by a modern LED light.
