The Duluth Harbor South Breakwater Outer Lighthouse where John Woods served as the lighthouse keeper from 1934 until his retirement on August 15, 1940. In June of 2018, the federal government, through the General Services Administration (GSA), declared the lighthouse as excess property and offered it for free to any qualified applicant under the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act.
