The light on Burrows Island was first displayed on April 1, 1906. The combination lighthouse tower and fog signal building was designed by famed architect Carl W. Leick, who spent his working career designing and overseeing construction of 25 lighthouse sites in the Pacific Northwest for District 13/17 during the early decades of the 1900s.
