William and Sarah Thomas were married for 50 years. After immigrating from Great Britain in the 1880s, they spent at least two years in Kansas City, Kansas where both of their daughters, Edna and Ann, were born in 1887 and 1888. Apparently, the sisters were not in communication with one another in their later lives, which is why the photo albums were never passed on to Edna’s descendants upon Ann’s death.
