Built in 1858, the Stingray Point Lighthouse near Deltaville, Virginia was automated in 1950 and boarded up. In 1965, a contractor, who was hired to dismantle the lighthouse, barged the structure to a local marina in hopes of putting it on display there. However, the marina did not have room for it, so it was dismantled. In March of 2003, a replica of the Stingray Point Lighthouse was built in Deltaville, Virginia. Charles F. Sadler was the keeper here from 1883 to 1886 and Andrew B. Sadler was the assistant keeper here from 1903 to 1913. William T. Brooks was the assistant keeper from 1915 to 1923.
