This photo shows what remained of one of the two derrick legs at Tillamook Rock Lighthouse that were destroyed in the October 1934 storm. In service from the very beginning in 1881, the wood stiff leg derrick was situated close enough to the southern crevice to be subjected to wave-carried boulders and debris during storms.
