The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton, North Carolina with its salmon-pink-colored head keeper’s home from a photograph taken in September of 1970 by former White House photographer Cecil Stoughton (1920-2008) who worked for the National Park Service from 1967 to 1973. Cecil Stoughton is perhaps best known for his photograph of Lyndon B. Johnson being sworn in as president aboard Air Force One on November 22, 1963, after the assassination of President John F.
