Edwin John Beinecke (far left) was born on January 6, 1896 in New York City. Beyond his association with S&H Green Stamps, Edwin and his two brothers, Frederick (center) and Walter (right), attended Yale University and later founded the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library there in 1963. He married Linda Maurer on April 22, 1909 and they had three children together. He died on January 21, 1970 and is buried at the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.
