The 1879 Northwest Passage Lighthouse located at the approach to Key West Florida in the Gulf of Mexico is where George Richard Billberry was stationed as the head keeper from 1870 to 1873. The lighthouse was deactivated in 1921 and demolished sometime after that. (Lighthouse Digest archives)
