Lighthouse Depot receives visitors from all over the world, but a tour group from Lapland was a first. They are from an area near Rovaniemi, Finland, at the Artic Circle where their entire town is devoted to Santa Claus. If you have ever wondered where your letters addressed to Santa Claus go - it’s the Santa Claus Post Office in Lapland. From the Santa Claus Airport (these are all official names) is where Santa departs from on Christmas Eve. While here the tour group, in a brief ceremony, made our very own Tim Harrison an honorary citizen.

This story appeared in the August 2001 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine. The print edition contains more stories than our internet edition, and each story generally contains more photographs - often many more - in the print edition.
