A new reproduction Fresnel lens manufactured by Artworks Florida Classic Fresnel Lenses LLC was recently installed in the lantern of the Vermilion Lighthouse in Vermilion, Ohio.
In 2014 the nonprofit Maine Street Vermilion formed a committee not only to preserve the lighthouse but also to install a lens in the tower. On September 15, 2016 over 500 people attended a relighting ceremony at the lighthouse.
The structure was built in 1991 as an exact replica of the original Vermilion Lighthouse that once stood in Vermilion.
