Lighthouses of the World
This soft cover 8.5” x 11” bills itself as “A Celebration of the World’s Most Beautiful Lighthouses,” a statement that some lighthouse aficionados may dispute when they see the book. However, this does not distract in any way from the outstanding photographs that are accompanied by a brief description of each lighthouse in this high quality 192-page book that features lighthouses from Africa to Australia and Europe to North America. This book would make a wonderful gift for anyone in just about any age bracket. It is available as item #3524 for $19.99 plus shipping from Lighthouse Digest, P.O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630 or online at https://shop.foghornpublishing.com/product/lighthouses-of-the-world-soft-cover/

The Lamplighters
It’s New Year’s Eve 1972 when a boat pulls up at the Maiden Rock Lighthouse with the relief keepers. But no one greets them. When the entrance door, locked from the inside, is battered down, rescuers find an empty tower. A table is laid for a meal not eaten. The Principle keeper’s weather log describes a storm raging round them, but the skies have been clear. And the clocks have all stopped at eight forty-five. Two decades later, the keepers’ wives are visited by a writer determined to find the truth about the men’s disappearance. Moving between the women’s stories and the men’s last weeks together on the lighthouse, we see long-held secrets surface and truths twist into lies as we piece together what happened, why and who to believe. In her riveting and suspenseful novel, author Emma Stonex writes a story of isolation and obsession, and what it takes to keep the light burning when all else is swallowed by darkness. The book is a love story, a mystery, and a ghost story, all in one. This 340-page hard cover book with dust jacket is available as item #3525 for $27.00 plus shipping from Lighthouse Digest, P.O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630 or online at https://shop.foghornpublishing.com/product/the-lamplighters-a-novel/
