Lighthouse Explorer Photo

The Three Sisters of Nauset Lighthouses on Cape Cod, MA from a vintage photograph courtesy of Robert J. Lewis. As the three lighthouses were discontinued and replaced by the current Nauset Beach Lighthouse, the old towers were sold and went into private ownership. In 1975 the National Park Service purchased the Three Sisters from their private owners and they were reunited in their original configuration about 1800 feet from the current Nauset Lighthouse. A $500,000 restoration project was completed in 1989 and the National Park site is now open to the public. Photo courtesy of Robert J. Lewis.
