The original lighthouse built at this site in 1190 was maintained by the nuns of St. Anne's convent. Tower Height: 49 Height of Focal Plane: 79 Characteristic and Range: Flash every 5 seconds, white or red depending on direction; range 17 nautical miles (white) and 13 nm (red). Description of Tower: White conical tower.
