This vessel was launched on January 12, 1916, and served a total of 48 years -- off Cape Charles, VA, then as the Overfalls Lightship at Lewes, DE, and as Stonehorse and Cross Rip stations, MA.

This light is not operational

Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; open on Mondays between Memorial Day and Labor Day and on Mondays that fall on a holiday.

Directions:
From I-264 in Portsmouth, take Exit 7 for the downtown area. If coming from the Downtown Tunnel from Norfolk, take the first right out of the tunnel. Follow the signs to Crawford Pkwy. and go several blocks to London Blvd. Turn right. The lightship is near the intersection of London and Water streets.
