Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge
The lighthouse was replaced by an automated light on a steel tower in 1921. Since then it has been severely endangered by neglect. The property became part of the Susquehanna National Wildlife Refuge (a satellite of the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge) in 1942.

The lighthouse can be seen offshore, 2.5 miles from Swan Creek Point. It is best seen by boat.
