Notes: This lighthouse was replaced by a skeleton tower light in 1968. The lighthouse, which fell into disrepair, was transferred to Lee County, and a jetty was built to protect it. The Gasparilla Island Conservation and Improvement Association raised funds and restored the lighthouse station in the 1980s; it was relighted in 1986. It is now a museum. Height of Focal Plane: 41 Characteristic and Range: White light occulting every four seconds. Description of Tower: Square tower and black cast iron lantern on roof of one-story dwelling.

Open To Public? Yes Museum? The Boca Grande Lighthouse Museum opened in March 1999. Exhibits include displays on Native Americans, the Spanish, the fishing industry, the history of the lighthouse, and more. From May through January, the museum is open Wednesday through Sundays 10 am to 4 pm. It is open seven days a week from February through April. Closed on major holidays. Directions: Follow Gulf Boulevard south to the Gasparilla Island State Recreation Area. The road to the lighthouse is just beyond the parking lot to the right.
