The lantern of this lighthouse was removed and replaced by a modern beacon on top of the tower. This is one of six limestone "Imperial" towers built in the Georgian Bay in the 1850s.

Accessible by boat only. The island is accessible via a 15-minute ferry, operated by Beausoleil First Nations, from Cedar Point. For more information on the ferry call (705) 247-2051. The road heading left from the ferry leads to the lighthouse.
