Réserve nationale de Camargue
The lighthouse was partially destroyed during World War II, but was restored in 1947. It is managed by the Société Nationale de Protection de la Nature through the Réserve nationale de Camargue, a nature reserve.

Accessible by car from Salin de Giraud, about 11 miles east of the lighthouse (the parking area is just over a mile east of the lighthouse), and on foot from Saintes Maries de la Mer or La Capelière (about 10 miles).
