Notes: This lighthouse stands within Hiawatha National Forest. The station has been beautifully restored and there is a museum in the keeper's house. Volunteer caretakers live in an apartment at the lighthouse year-round.

Current Use: Museum. Open To Public? Yes. Museum? The keeper's house now contains exhibits showing what lighthouse life was like. You can also climb the spiral staircase to the top of the tower, and there is a boardwalk/trail that leads to the lake. The museum, lighthouse and gift shop are open during the summer from Memorial Day through October 15. Hours: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Directions: Follow M-221 to Lake Superior in Brimley, then turn left at 6 Mile Road. Continue as the road becomes Lakeshore Drive and follow to the lighthouse, where there is plenty of parking.
