This lighthouse has never been an official aid to navigation; it was built as part of the Mystic Seaport Museum complex. It is a replica (not exact) of Nantucket's Brant Point Lighthouse.

Description of Tower: White wooden conical tower with a black cast iron lantern.

This light is operational

Optics: Fourth order Fresnel lens.

Current Use: Part of maritime museum.

Open To Public? grounds only.

The lighthouse is one of the exhibits at Mystic Seaport, which occupies the site of three of five shipyards that once lined the Mystic River. Founded in 1929, the museum recreates a 19th century village of tall ships and historic buildings. For information call (860) 572-5315 or toll free (888) 9SEAPORT.

From I-95, take exit 90 to Route 27 and follow the signs to Mystic Seaport. Dockage is available at the museum for visiting yachts; advance reservations are recommended.
