This lighthouse is within the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. It was moved about 150 feet away from the shore in 1987. It has been replaced by a nearby modern cylindrical tower. Originally the keeper from Lapointe Light also maintained this light. Tower Height: 42 Description of Tower: Square, pyramidal skeletal tower with enclosed workroom on lower level.

In the summer you can reach Long Island by private boat or water taxi. Scheduled cruises to Long Island are available during the Apostle Islands Lighthouse Celebration each September.
