Photo Caption:
Lighthouse keeper Charles Kenney on Maine’s Libby Island in 1907, with son-in-law Harold Kilton who was also a lighthouse keeper. Lighthouse keepers often kept cows as a source of milk as well as beef. The horse could have been used to help plow the fields for crops, or as entertainment for family riding on the island.
